A general statement first: inks, be they Epson, HP, Canon, etc. are provided by the original equipment manufacturear as well a number of ink manufactures that attempt to duplicate the original - and I'm sure some succeed. But when you've got substantial dollars invested in a printer and you find you can buy inks well below Original Manufacturers ink, it sure is tempting. With an inexpensive printer, I've tried non OE inks/toners with success - with an expensive printer and having read some of the horror stories than can happen with non-OE ink, I'm just not willing to take the change. I like my printing needs to be filled without having to worry about sub-standard cartridges or below standard inks in those cartridges. My goal with photo prints is to get the finished glossy, matte, etc. without having to clean the printer from leaked cartridges, etc. In no way am I saying this is always the case - for me, I don't want to take the risk. And I've found OE inks are foolproof (in my experience).I recommend/endorse Canon inks - HP inks - Used both successfully. Colors are true, lasting, vivid.
