Description

Gizmo DorksWe provide the highest quality 3D printing materials such as ABS, PLA, HIPS, PVA, and more. Our filaments are run with tight tolerances. There are no air bubbles or oily residues. Every filament comes loaded on a durable, hard plastic spool, not a cheap, flimsy cardboard spool.PLA, Polylactic Acid, is created from processing a number of plant products. PLA can be composted at commercial facilities unlike ABS which is derived from fossil fuels. PLA is a more earth friendly plastic. It is stronger and more rigid than ABS, and in general the printed objects will have a more glossy look and feel compared to ABS. Unlike ABS, PLA can be sanded and machined. PLA has a lower melting temperature compared to ABS. As a material, PLA has much less warping versus ABS. Additionally, a heated bed is not required to print it. PLA generally enjoys sharper details and corners compared to ABS without the risk of cracking or warping. PLA can also be printed at higher throughput speeds. Now it is possible to print with metal filament from a desktop 3D printer. Bronze PLA is PLA plastic mixed and filled with real bronze. The resulting filament imparts the look and feel of bronze giving the printed part a sculpted bronze finish look. The finished part will look laser sintered. The filament prints just like normal PLA, so it is very easy to print and environmentally friendly.PLA comes in a variety of different vibrant colors. Some of the more exotic colors are the fluorescent series and color changing series. The fluorescent series glows under UV light, commonly known as black. The color changing filaments change colors at 31°C (88°F). The filament is one color below 31°C, and when it is heated above 31°C, the filament will change to another color.

great product looks amazing, only issues i had at all was that it absorbed moisture really fast vs other filaments from gizmodorks, so got brittle very fastThis is, so far, one of the lowest quality filaments I have tried and I would never buy it again or recommend it to others. Unlike many filaments, this one has a very narrow range of printable temperature. Be very careful about printing temperature calibration for your setup before using this. For me, 185 was the only really decent temperature. And even then, there was a lot of stringing. It is easily the stringiest PLA I have ever used. This is advertised at a "bronze metal" filament. Is this color bronze? I would say no. It's kind of a greenish beige, or khaki. Granted, there is a lot of variation to bronze coloration, but usually it is a bit deeper and brownish/reddish. As this is not a silk PLA, there is nothing particularly metallic about it. It is less shiny than many other solid color PLAs I have used.Looking for something nice to say about this filament, I can attest that it will print under perfect conditions. If you really take the time to print off calibration tests to make sure you have the right settings for this filament, you can get a good print. This filament not being a silk/metallic has the benefit of not being brittle like those types of filaments are, so if you need something to look sort of bronze without becoming brittle, this might be an added benefit. But for me, the effort versus the reward on this one means I would pass on it every time. This is neither good filament nor does it look like bronze in any stretch of the imagination.Looks great but it’s not metal is plasticI bought this to print grave markers for my fire department. I wanted Bronze look to the markers because Its what we previously bought and stands out. THEY PRINT GREAT. Color is great they look clean and they have nearly 0 issue when printing. My only negative is how brittle this filament is. Once printed its fine no issues but sitting on spool and feeding it snaps within 5 minutes of print completing. very annoying.4 stars for print quality but it's not going to patina not enough copper in the filliament to get a desired look maby in a few years of sitting it mightLayer adhesion is fine, the filament itself is somewhat brittle but I haven't had to many issues with it so far.It looks nice and bronze-y and if you look very closely you can see very tiny sparkles which I would assume it's the bronze particles. That said it probably has hardly any bronze to be significant as I printed two Benchy's with the same gcode, with one being regular PLA and the other being this "bronze-fill" PLA, and both of them weighted the same on a kitchen scale.Overall, shame that it doesn't claim to be what it is but it does at least have a nice color, prints sufficient. If I wanted PLA in silk poop color I would of loved this filament, but alas I thought it was copper filled filament that could patina with some methods that can accelerate the process. I run a small business and I was going to make a beautiful ornamental item that was a 3D scan of my clients dog...I was going for a lost relic esthetic, but only got a tabloid headline "dog poops a doppelgänger" with the way it's looking. They said they upped the amount of copper from 5% to 25%... in the Q&A portion of this Amazon page...back in 2019.I think they went back to the original formula. No issues what so ever with this filament had great prints all around with it. No clogs or other common issuesDoesn’t contain metal whatsoever. Better spend more and get what you want
